Salty A. Klingl Why I Will Never Go To the Zoo With Robert Again so while I was at the drinking fountain that was rusting out and looked like a thousand pigeons lived on it my friend Robert who had a face like he'd been dropped off somewhere along the evolutionary road wandered over to the orangutan display and pushed his face to the glass and said HEY JAY C'MERE LOOK AT THIS APE so I went because I wasn't thirsty anymore but as I got there the biggest orangutan saw Robert and was at the glass fast pressing itself toward Robert and smearing its lips all over and doing things with its its SELF and 1 nearly threw up because I was laughing so hard so 1 pulled Robert away because he was falling in love and we went to see the seals and throw smashed bits of herring at them so they would act foolish but one HUGE seal kept stealing all the bits so we hated him and threw our gum to him and Robert tossed his apartment key and then 1 knew we should leave so we walked by the ape cage on the way out and the pervert ape saw Robert again and flew to the glass and smashed himself against Robert and Robert fell in love again and I said geez Robert I should write a book about you. He kissed me in a pool of love and hate and pain and fear And tears and dripping desire On the floor of that apartment across from the hospital With the ambulances screaming below. The rug stunk of hamburger grease And the stairwells of bad foreign food. I could have made it a castle had I hung my tapestries, But it's rented to someone else now And the song will never play again We had the only copy of the only tape.
